Reflective writing

I had about 5 seconds left in the middle of my animation of which i was unsure what to fill with. I thought at first that i could alter the frame rate of my animation which would end up filling the 5 second gap. However when i tried this, i didn't like the new pace of my animation as everything felt much slower and did not work correctly with the music, and many of the images don't line up with the lyrics, so i decided to scrap that idea. I thought about adding another Beatles reference, but i didn't want to overload it with Beatles stuff as i don’t want my film to be about the Beatles. I thought about maybe adding quickly changing images and references which would work with the pace of the film. I also thought about adding different images of the Beatles over the years - so looking at their different musical eras. This could have been by adding quickly changing images of their albums throughout the years or their faces/styles changing over time. This still felt a bit odd as it just felt like i was slapping on some images of their faces onto their music which felt a bit like a fan video. I suddenly remembered that there are some videos online where people merge different faces together in a very strange looking way where the faces almost look three dimensional. Luckily i found one of The Beatles where it shows how their faces change over the years. One of them also showed an imagined projection of them into the future, where they added an ageing effect by creating wrinkles and grey hair. I thought this was really strange but tried it anyway into my film. I didn't really like it as it felt a bit strange. I decided to cut the ageing part out and just have them ageing throughout the years they were alive. I also sped up the video on Premiere Pro to 1000 times, which meant the speed worked well with the fast music. I was very happy with this result as it looked really strange and worked well with the almost unintelligible music and lyrics which just merged into noise at this point. I am happy to have finished my film at a good time, as i was very worried about time management, especially when i had covid. However, I think it went well, and changing from animation into film at the end helped with time management while also adding a different dimension and interesting effect. I now need to edit my film onto Premiere Pro to cut each shot to work with the music. Luckily I was editing throughout my project so I have very little left to do. I think that I will do that next time I do a film or animation, as editing while shooting/drawing helps me figure out timings and where I need to cut or reshoot. It also helped a lot to have an animatic ready as I edited my finished shots straight onto the animatic which helped a lot.
